The great Messiah!
Now that I live in the US it doesn’t feel right to write in English anymore! I don’t know why but I’ve got a feeling that my Persian weblog is enough now because I am here and things that I see in this country are what everybody who can read English can see so…
But maybe I am wrong; there are lots of things happening in Iran that are not written in English so maybe I can do that.
The new topic of discussion in Iran is this guy. He lives in the US and claims to be the messiah of Iran. He says he plans t o arrive in Iran in 4 days and overthrow the Mullahs’ regime. When they ask him how exactly he plans on doing so, the reply is nothing that can be accepted by any sound mind! He says that he is going to arrive on a flight that has no number, somewhere that no-one can stop him and by the time that he reaches Iran all clergymen will have fled the country. He and his followers claim that the mullahs in power are already sending their families abroad in fear of his arrival.
He says that when he comes he’s not going to hurt anyone and it will be a very peaceful and civil revolution, he would only send 7 people to exile and the rest will be excused for their deeds. One of his interesting claims is that he has the support of Basij and Sepah, these two groups are the militia and military forces of the country whose devotion to the regime is the strongest of all!
The funniest and yet most saddening side of it all is that Iranian people believe his claims! I think our people are so desperately in need of a savior that they would cling onto the stupidity of a halfwit, a stuttering guy like him. Some famous singers including Hasan Shamaeezadeh have declared their support! Now, that does it! I really don’t know what to say, I am overwhelmed by the simple-mindedness of my people, or should I say their despair which results in ridiculing themselves. People from Iran call him on his TV show and tell him that they can’t wait to see him in the biggest square in Tehran (Shahyad)! For crying out loud the man cannot even speak Persian and now he is going to be the one who rescues us?!
